What helps

Include what you can; none of it is required.

• Which phone, and the app version shown in the beta bar at the top of the screen (for example v0.1.0). For the web build, the browser.
• What you expected and what you saw. If it is a number, the distance, the answer the app gave, and what actually put you on target.
• A screenshot of the Shoot screen and, if the numbers are the problem, of the Details sheet — it shows where every input came from.
• Optionally, your exported data file. It contains your rifles, loads, and shots, and any saved coordinates unless you deleted them, so only send it if you are comfortable with that. It lets us reproduce the exact solution.

Questions testers ask

Why does the app call itself a training aid?

Because that is what it is until its live-fire validation and an independent technical review are complete. The solver is checked against a fixed set of reference cases on every build, but a firing solution has not been proven at the range across the rifles and conditions we require. Until it has, treat every answer as a starting point to confirm, not a fact.

Why can’t I pick my ammunition from a list?

On purpose. The app ships no factory velocity library, because a published box speed is not your rifle’s speed. You enter the ammunition name, the ballistic coefficient and its model, and either the box speed or a chronograph reading — and the app labels which one it is using. The projectile catalog, when it carries records, supplies geometry and drag values only, never a speed.

Which Bluetooth devices work?

In the field test now: SIG KILO10K Gen II for range and inclination, Garmin Xero C1 for completed-string velocity sync, and the Kestrel 5700AL (firmware 1.53) for temperature, pressure, humidity, and — if you switch it on — wind. Other Kestrel models, KILO10K Gen I, the Xero C2, and Calypso wind meters are recognised for inspection only and supply nothing to the solution until they have been physically tested.

My range card says “planning”. What does that mean?

A planning card was built from the conditions you set at home, not from live readings. It is meant to be confirmed at the range under current conditions. A current card uses what your phone and devices are reading now, with each source and its age shown.

How do I move my data to a new phone?

Settings → Download my data writes one file. On the new phone, choose Restore from a saved file on first run, or in Settings, and pick that file. The file works across iPhone, Android, and the web build.

How do I delete my data?

Delete saved location data in Settings removes coordinates from current conditions and logged shots. Deleting the app removes everything. For the web build, clear the site’s data in your browser. We keep no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete.

Is it on the App Store or Google Play?

Not yet. The app is in an invitation-only field test on iPhone and Android. Request an invitation from the overview page and we will write when a place opens.

What it cannot do yet

Listing these is the point. If you hit one, you are not imagining it.

• Live-fire validation and the independent technical review are still in progress. The app is a training aid until they finish.
• Device support has been field-tested on a small set of hardware. A device that is not on the list above contributes nothing to the solution, by design.
• KILO10K Gen I and the Garmin Xero C2 have not been physically tested. The Calypso wind meter is recognised but not decoded; its wind is entered by hand.
• Keeping a device connected through screen lock and app switches is under test on both platforms. Do not rely on it yet — check the device chip on the Shoot screen before you fire.
• The Garmin watch bridge is Android only.
• There is no account and no sync. Data moves between phones by file, and only when you export it.
